Professor Aubrey Burger

Founding Pastor | Rector | Registrar | Financial Head | Specialist Counsellor

Professor Aubrey Burger is the Founding Pastor of Jesus Christ Reformation Ministration and Theological Seminary (JCRMTS) and serves as Rector, Registrar, and Financial Head of the institution. As founder and visionary leader, he provides overall strategic direction, doctrinal oversight, academic governance, and operational stewardship for the seminary and its branches across South Africa.

In addition to his executive responsibilities within JCRMTS, Professor Burger is a Director of Word of God Seminary (WOGS), contributing to theological education, ministry formation, and leadership development at a broader institutional level. His academic leadership reflects a deep commitment to sound doctrine, structured theological training, and the development of spiritually mature leaders.

Professor Burger is also a registered counsellor with the Counselling Association of South Africa (CASA) and serves in leadership with Chaplaincy SA as Regional Branch Commander for Vaaloewer and surrounding areas. Through these roles, he integrates professional counselling practice with pastoral ministry, ensuring that leadership within JCRMTS is both spiritually grounded and practically responsive to real-life challenges faced by individuals and communities.

In addition, Professor Aubrey Burger is a registered marriage counsellor.  He travels across South Africa to formalise marriages.

Through his work, Professor Burger ensures that JCRMTS maintains excellence in teaching, discipleship, and community engagement, equipping leaders and believers for effective ministry and life transformation. His approach combines academic rigor, pastoral wisdom, and hands-on leadership to develop a holistic ministry model that is both strategic and spiritually grounded.

His leadership is marked by integrity, accountability, and a steadfast commitment to advancing the Kingdom of God through theological education, pastoral care, and structured ministry development.

Dr Jill Burger-Howard

Director | Doctor in Counselling | Chaplaincy Leader

Dr Jill Burger-Howard serves as a Director and senior leader within JCRMTS, co-leading the headquarters alongside Professor Burger. She plays a central role in shaping the ministry’s pastoral care framework, counselling integration, and community outreach initiatives.

As a Doctor in Counselling and a registered counsellor with the Counselling Association of South Africa (CASA), Dr Jill brings professional expertise and compassionate insight to the seminary’s leadership structure. Her contribution ensures that JCRMTS maintains a strong balance between theological training and holistic care, addressing both spiritual and emotional well-being.

Dr Jill also serves as a Branch Commander with Chaplaincy SA, actively involved in chaplaincy oversight, mentorship, and structured community-based spiritual support. Her leadership strengthens JCRMTS’s engagement in community care, crisis response, and faith-based counselling initiatives.

At headquarters, Dr Jill oversees the development of pastoral support systems, counselling initiatives, and leadership mentoring programs. Her approach is characterized by compassion, excellence, and a commitment to integrating faith and professional practice in a manner that reflects Christ-centred service.

Together, Professor Aubrey Burger and Dr Jill Burger-Howard form the executive and spiritual leadership core of JCRMTS. Their combined expertise in theology, counselling, chaplaincy, and institutional governance ensures that JCRMTS operates with excellence, accountability, and unwavering dedication to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
